Teen Therapist, Child Therapist, Parent Coach

When you’re the parent of an anxious, angry, even at times aggressive kid or teen, you can feel challenged and kind of lost. Are you failing as a parent? Should you be doing something different? Is it all your fault?

The short answer is, no, it’s not all your fault. And, at the same time, there’s room to grow and progress that can be made, together.

As an anxiety therapist and parent coach at Compassionate Counseling St. Louis, I know that life changes and transitions can have a huge impact on anxiety, which then leads to big changes in behaviors.

(Learn more about our parent coaching program - it’s like therapy for parents.)

With my background in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused therapies, I’m passionate about helping teens and kids connect to what’s going on in their heads, in their hearts, and in their bodies, so that they know how to deal with the stressors around them and come up with a good toolkit.

I think it’s also crucial that parents understand what’s going on for their child, underneath the surface. When you can understand the problem, it’s much easier to come up with workable solutions.

Let’s work together to make a plan and really target the anxiety that’s underneath all the noise.

The most important part of any clinical relationship is that rapport we build in session. I want you to feel heard, understood, and respected so that we can really address your concerns, together.

Are you worried this situation is getting to be too serious or overwhelming?

I’ve had years of experience working with teens in psychiatric hospitals, so I know how serious mental health can be. I promise that the overwhelming feelings and issues are workable - and that we can figure out that best plan, all together.
